83rd Annual Meeting — Board Election Results

Nebraska Energy Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) held its 83rd Annual Meeting on Friday, April 24, 2026. Members voted to fill three (3) open positions on the board of directors. The NEFCU board of directors is composed of nine NEFCU members, elected by the membership and serving on a voluntary basis.

 

Ron Ziola - RE-ELECTED - THREE YEAR TERM Ron Ziola elected to a second three-year term. Ron retired from Loup River Power District in 2020 after 42 years of service in engineering.



Mark Johnson - NEWLY ELECTED - THREE-YEAR TERM
Mark Johnson elected to a three-year term. Mark currently serves as the Manager of Elkhorn Rural Public Power District in Battle Creek, NE.



Kathy Vandersnick - NEWLY ELECTED - THREE-YEAR TERM
Kathy has worked for Niobrara Valley Electric Membership Corporation for over 36 years and has held the position of Office Manager since 2019.

April 2026 - Bauer Financial, Inc, the nation's leading independent bank and credit union rating firm, awards Nebraska Energy Federal Credit Union a 5-Stars rating as one of the strongest financial institutions in the country. 

America Credit Unions awards Nebraska Energy Federal Credit Union the
 PAC Circle of Excellence - 2025 Top State Fundraiser.

Awarded to the top three credit unions that raise the highest amount funds for the Political Action Committee (PAC), Nebraska Energy Federal Credit Union received the award as a result of staff contributions. Political Action Committee's purpose is to elevate the voice of credit unions on Capitol Hill and in the Unicameral by supporting political candidates that champion credit unions. These contributions offer continued support for the Credit Union Movement. 
 
2024 Nebraska Credit Union League Capitol Club Silver Award
The Capital Club Award recognizes a Credit Union who demonstrates outstanding member grassroots involvement.
