Educational Assistance Loans

 

Taking The Fear Out Of Financing A College Education...

Need help with college expenses? The credit union has the answer.... we offer Education Assistance Loans. These loans are available to members in an effort to assist with the additional financial commitment that many of us face during college years. Members are eligible for up to $10,000 per calendar year with a maximum of $40,000 per household aggregate total.

Federal Family Education Loan Program/Student Loans

If you’re planning to attend college your first test will be how to finance your education. Nebraska Energy Federal Credit Union is a participant in the Federal Family Education Loan Program. Three types of loans are available:

Subsidized Stafford Loan:

Government will pay the interest for you while you are in school and during a 6 month grace period after you leave. Repayment begins six/nine months (depending on terms) after the student drops below half-time study or graduates.

 

Unsubsidized Stafford Loan:

Borrower is responsible for interest that accrues while he/she is in school. Repayment of the loan(s) begins six months after the student drops below half-time study or graduates.

 PLUS Loan:

Available to parents of dependant undergraduate students. Repayment begins 60 days after disbursement for first time borrowers.
